Frequently Asked Questions...

And My Answers...

How Would You Describe Your Style?

I have a casual, storytelling lifestyle approach with my work. I'm a self taught, natural light photographer and my goal is to always make you feel relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera and to make your session FUN so I can capture your true personalities in a unique way. I will direct you toward the best light and offer suggested poses from time to time but will mostly document your natural interactions with one another in a timeless style to be appreciated for years to come!

What Time Of Day Will Our Shoot Be?

OUTDOOR LIFESTYLE: I like to shoot 1 - 2 hours before sunset so the time will vary depending on the season.

INDOOR LIFESTYLE & BRANDING: These will take place early-mid morning to capture clean, soft, natural light.

PERSONALITY PORTRAITS: These sessions will take place in a studio setting early-mid morning.

What Should We Wear To Our Shoot?

First and foremost I encourage all my clients to find clothing that feels like you, flatters your figure and is easy to move in. Plan far enough ahead so you can make any alterations you might need in time for your shoot. Loose and flowing fabrics can be so beautiful as we capture movement throughout your shoot. I also encourage familes to be coordinated, but not “matchy.” Think in terms of color palette and complementary colors as well as textures and prints to give interest and personality to your look. I recommend starting with the adults outfits, then find coordinating items for your children. Here are a few of my favorite resources:

Baltic Born
Joyfolie
Free People
Amazon
Target
Bohme
Zara
Rylee + Cru
H&M
Lulus
ASOS
Gap

Stay away from neon colors, branding and logos on your clothing.

Be sure your clothes are wrinkle and stain-free! Plan on changing young children into their outfits when you arrive at the location.

Check the weather forecast and plan ahead for cooler temps in the evening. Be prepared with sweaters or jackets that coordinate with your wardrobe.

Accessories are a fun way to get creative and make a look a little extra special and pop! A fun necklace, hat or scarf or all great.

Where Will Our Session Take Place?

Outdoor Lifestyle & Personal Branding session can take place in a variety of places including your backyard, favorite park, beach, open space, garden, etc. I have locations that I have scouted that I can recommend but I'm also always open to your suggestions if there is a place that is meaningful to you and you love. These are your memories to make so we'll collaborate to find the best place!

Newborn sessions will take place in your home or a local outdoor space should you prefer.

Personality Portraits will take place at my in home, Ladera Ranch studio or another studio nearby.

What Happens If The Weather Is Bad Or Someone is Sick?

Great question! This is important to address. A lot of times we have a specific vision for our session and how the photos will turn out, however every day is unique and the weather is more and more unpredictable these days. I don't reschedule if its overcast and cloudy because often times, those sessions are my favorite. The clouds add so much color and dimension to a session and I love it! But yes, if there is rain or someone is sick, we will absolutely reschedule.

How Will My Images Be Delivered?

You will receive your beautiful, thoughtfully hand edited photos via a link to a personal, high resolution, downloadable, online gallery within 2 weeks of your session.

Feel free to share the link to your gallery with your family and friends as well!

Do You Require A Deposit?

Yes, a non-refundable $100 retainer fee is required to book and secure your session date. Remaining balance is due a week before the session date.

Where Should We Print Our Photos?

You can order a variety of print products directly from your personal image gallery and have them delivered to your doorstep!

Alternately, you are welcome to download your digital images and print wherever you like, however I do highly recommend getting them printed at a high quality photo lab to ensure fine art quality prints.

The quality and color of these fine art prints are well worth the extra time and cost when compared to what you would receive from the lower end print options such as shutterfly, costco, drug stores, etc.

I have several printer recommendations, so please let me know if there's any way that I can help!
